Yes, each cabin has wifi!
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at our cabins.
Is the water safe to drink?
Yes, the water is safe to drink! All of our cabins use clean, tested well water. While well water can sometimes have a distinct taste, each cabin is equipped with a Brita water filter pitcher for your convenience and peace of mind.
Do you have a TV?
Yes, each cabin has a TV.
Do you allow small gatherings/micro weddings?
Elopements and micro weddings may be allowed on a case-by-case basis. We do have a maximum guest limit to ensure the space remains comfortable for everyone. If you’re considering a small celebration, feel free to reach out and tell us more—we’d be happy to see if it’s a good fit.
How can we cook at the cabin?
Each cabin features a fully equipped kitchen, complete with pots, pans, utensils, and all the essentials you need to cook your favorite meals. Whether you’re whipping up breakfast or preparing a full dinner, you’ll have everything you need right at your fingertips!
What recreational equipment do you have available?
Both the Barnhouse and the Crystal River Retreat come with four kayaks each, along with life jackets and paddles, so you’re all set for a relaxing adventure on the Crystal River.
Are you on the lake or close to any lakes?
The Barnhouse and Crystal River Retreat are located right on the Crystal River and just a 5-minute walk from the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan.
The Pentwater Hideaway features a creek on the property, perfect for little ones to explore, and is only a 10-minute drive from Mears State Park, where you can enjoy even more outdoor fun.
Is there a minimum night stay?
At the Barnhouse, we typically require weekly rentals from mid-June to mid-August (for 2025, this will be from June 14th to August 23rd). Guests are welcome to stay for multiple weeks if desired. For weekly rentals, check-in and check-out are on Saturdays only.
The Crystal River Retreat and the Pentwater Hideaway do not have a minimum night stay, so you can book for as many or as few nights as you’d like.
When is check-in/check-out?
Check-in is after 5 PM, and check-out is by 10 AM. This allows us to ensure the cabin is fully prepared for your stay.
What do I need to pack?
We provide all the essentials like bedding, towels, and kitchenware, so you don’t need to worry about those. However, we recommend packing your personal items such as toiletries, food and drinks for cooking, outdoor gear (if you plan to kayak or hike), and any special items to make your stay more comfortable. Don’t forget sunscreen, bug repellent, and a camera to capture the beautiful surroundings!
What is the kitchen equipped with?
All three of our cabins are fully equipped with everything you need to prepare and enjoy meals. Each kitchen includes pots, pans, utensils, dishes, glasses, and baking essentials. You’ll also find a full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and dishwasher. No matter which cabin you stay in, you’ll have everything you need to cook up a great meal!
What is the bathroom equipped with?
Each bathroom is fully stocked with essential items for your convenience. You’ll find soap, towels, shampoo, conditioner, and a bar of soap. We also provide a hair dryer and toilet paper to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
